Abrasion Risk Zeroed:
Pelton Bucket Integrity
The Mission: A high-head Pelton unit faced rapid degradation due to quartz-rich sediment. Buckets were losing profile every 12 months. Our objective: Extend component life and restore hydraulic efficiency.

01 The Threat Vector
The unit operates in a region with significant seasonal sediment load. The high-velocity water jets acted like a continuous **sandblaster** on the buckets and nozzle needles. The result was severe profile degradation every 12 months, leading to a 4% efficiency drop and necessitating annual, expensive refurbishment shutdowns.
> RISK DETECTED: RAPID PROFILE LOSS
> CONSEQUENCE: 4% EFFICIENCY DROP ANNUALLY
02 Tactical Execution
We deployed the AnoHUB Advanced Materials Protocol:
-
Forensic NDT Analysis Before any repair, we used sub-surface testing (NDT) to identify deep micro-cracks in the bucket root, ensuring the base material was sound enough for coating.
-
Nozzle Precision Check Verified the spear and nozzle alignment to ensure the water jet maintained perfect laminar flow, reducing turbulence-induced wear.
-
Material Upgrade (HVOF) We recommended and oversaw the application of specialized HVOF (High Velocity Oxygen Fuel) ceramic-metal composite coatings designed for extreme abrasion resistance.
